Subject: Last posting
Word 1: Jack
Word 10000: surprised
Word 20000: sighed
Word 30000: bang
The above is because there is a thread on the nanowrimo site to say what your 10000th word etc is. This was a bit difficult to work out because I started the book in the middle and then went back to the beginning to write that. But I got there, those are the words in the order that I actually wrote them, rather than in the order that they'll appear in the finished product. Interestingly, it could read as a very short premise of the book!
Anyway, this is my last posting here as I am now transferring to my xanga site weblog but I will keep these pages here for posterity. I've enjoyed doing this journal, but it's much easier to use an organised weblog and also more people are likely to read it.
Oh no, I'm not feeling sorry for myself, really. Lol.

And on the day after a night shift too. I thought I wouldn't make it, thought I'd get to the end of the chapter before 30k, but no - I just got in there. And my 30000th word was 'bang'. Fab. Yawn. Going to bed now. hooray!

Subject: got some good writing time in today.
But I've got to do another night shift tonight, so might not get any more done. We'll see. I'm just on the verge of a long-awaited for sex scene so when I next get writing I think it'll be fast and furious - steam coming off my fingers kind of thing.
I contemplated having a complete day off yesterday, but then decided to try and do half an hour and get some word count, because anything is better than nothing. My hangover finally went away in time for me to go to bed.
I've got a bit of work to do for my MA just now and going to go online and check my messages before getting my bag packed for tonight. I'm beginning to feel human again just in time to get knocked out with another waking night. I'm going to take my notebook this time and try to plan out the next chapter after this one.
Didn't watch Chicago last night, I'm saving it for when I don't feel guilty just sitting and watching the TV.

Subject: but I will be writing tonight, I honestly swear I will
Today I have written nothing. Zero; zilch; nada; bugger all. As predicted I was seriously hung over this morning after drinking rather more units than necessary to get utterly plastered. But the upside is I made some new friends and came away with phone numbers and promises to stay in contact. Hey! I'm a real person capable of making friends in the real world not only found items over the internet. Unfortunately I also came away with some rather embarrassing memories of handling a strange man's skanky underpants (did I mention it was a hen night?) and making several passes at my soon-to-be-step-sister-in-law-um-person who is really rather cute. So I made it Pink in the end and wore a slinky number that showed off my tattoos with my huge New Rock purple boots that really do rock. I coped with the weather aspect by wearing a long coat that then got stuck in the taxi door and flapped around in the rain all the way into town.
Today I decided not to go to Glastonbury (as this had been arranged last night in a miasma of alcohol fumes), dropped off the babysitter, visited sister-in-law (not the cute one but she is quite special), had lunch out, did a bit of retail therapy, threw a few sticks for the dog, groaned about my headache and then sat down to browse nanowrimo before starting to write. And now it's time for the boy's bath and Alys is snoring next to me and it'll be another hour or more before I can sit down again, but I really will write tonight, I will I will.
Chicago DVD came today mail order, I wonder how much writing I'll get done before it's time to watch it?
